Dr. Abhishek Dondapati

Dr. Abhishek Job Dondapati is an accomplished academic and healthcare management professional, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Dr. Kakarla Subba Rao Centre for Health Care Management, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad. With a strong background in healthcare, technology, and management, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role, focusing on health informatics, data analytics, and technology-driven healthcare solutions. Dondapati’s academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Hyderabad, followed by an MBA in Healthcare and Hospital Management from the same institution. He further pursued his doctoral studies at the University of Madras, specializing in Health Informatics. His Ph.D. research explored factors influencing healthcare providers’ intention to adopt e-health technologies, showcasing his deep interest in the intersection of healthcare and digital transformation. He later completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Hyderabad, where he worked on pioneering research in artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, including embodied conversational agents for hospital websites.

His teaching and research interests encompass health informatics, healthcare analytics, artificial intelligence in healthcare, human-computer interaction, patient empowerment, and health policy. As a faculty member, he has designed and taught courses in healthcare data analytics, predictive modeling, AI applications in healthcare, and hospital management. Dr. Dondapati is an active researcher with numerous publications in high-impact journals, including Scopus and ABDC-indexed journals. His recent works include studies on e-health adoption, virtual influencers in healthcare marketing, AI-driven predictive models, and digital health technologies in aged care. He has presented research at leading national and international conferences, contributing significantly to the discourse on healthcare technology and management.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Dondapati plays a crucial role in scholarly peer review and editorial activities. He serves as a reviewer for esteemed journals such as PLOS ONE, International Journal of Behavioural and Healthcare Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Journal of Health Organization and Management, Computers in Human Behavior: Artificial Humans, and Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care. He is also an editorial advisor for the Journal of Health Organization and Management, further strengthening his engagement with global academic and healthcare research communities. Additionally, he has completed Direct Trainer Skills and Design of Training from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India.

Dr. Dondapati has also undertaken consultancy projects in the healthcare sector. Notably, he completed a Consultancy Project on the Restructuring of Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) into the Directorate of Secondary Healthcare, providing strategic recommendations for the improvement of secondary healthcare services in Telangana.

His commitment to professional development is evident through his certifications in data science, health informatics, and mixed-methods research from leading institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, the University of Hyderabad, and IIM Indore. He has also qualified for the UGC NET in Management Studies, underscoring his academic excellence.
