
The Centre for Human Resources Development under ASCI has the mandate of developing managerial and leadership competencies through capacity building and use of innovative instructional design approaches. The learning and development model adopted by CHRD is designed to develop critical leadership competencies needed during the turbulent times. CHRD has designed and conducted international programs on leadership development and sustainable development for Senior Civil Servants, CMDs, Managing Directors, Executive Directors of Power Utilities and Department of Energy of various state governments. These programs included study tours to Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Switzerland and Japan.
Faculty of CHRD also conduct customised leadership development programs for international audience. These programs are supported by Ministry of External Affairs and receive participants from Africa, Asia, Latin America and SAARC countries.
Centre has offered its services to clients ranging from Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Allahabad Bank, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Life Insurance Corporation of India, Public Sector General Insurance Companies (PSGICs), Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd, Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited, Indian oil Corporation Limited, Power Finance Corporation, REC ltd, Bihar State Power Holding Company Ltd, MAHAGENCO, Intelligence Bureau, Asia Development Bank, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of External Affairs, Union Public Service Commission and Backward Class Residential Schools Welfare Societies of AP and Telangana.
Recently, Centre has completed external evaluation of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching Study in India for Ministry of Education and Study on Management Consulting and Study on SAKAR Training Centre Business Plan for Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation Ltd (MPBCDC), Maharashtra. ASCI’s Karmayogi Cell at Centre is developing course content for the iGOT-Karmayogi platform of the Department of Personnel and Training. The major objective of the platform is to bring scale and state-of-the-art infrastructure to augment the capacities of civil servants and other government officials.
Centre has developed a unique and customised IDP (Individual Development Programme) for the banks, Financial institutions and other organizations. This IDP involves one to one interaction with the staff of the clients, ascertaining and assessing their technical and behavioural skills, career mapping, setting of career goals, doing SWOT Analysis and preparing a broad route map for achieving those goals, all in alignment with the organisations’ goals and objectives. During the year 2023-24 the centre has done this exercise covering 2100 senior executives (ranging from scale IV to scale VIII) of various banks ( no of senior executives data to be updated).
Furthermore, the CHRD aims to build the capacity of individuals and organizations by offering various programs like behavioural coaching sessions, competency-based assessments, skill development programs, online competency mapping, and other workshops. These are short-term programs designed for senior executives to enhance their strategic thinking and leadership skills. These cater to managers & administrators, focusing on various aspects of management and human resource practices to advance professional capabilities across various sectors, including banking, education, healthcare, PSUs and public administration. The programs are designed to address HR issues like organizational restructuring, HR policy reviews and administrative reforms, regulatory framework/guidelines of CSR, capacity building and other contemporary HR trends and best practices. The Centre partners with a range of various national and international bodies to foster HR excellence.
