Building Energy Simulation

Buildings account for nearly 30% of global energy consumption and over 20% of CO₂ emissions, making energy efficiency in the built environment critical for sustainability and climate resilience. With rapid urbanisation and infrastructure expansion, integrating energy-efficient designs at early stages is essential to reduce energy demand, operational costs, and environmental impact.

Programme Overview

This programme equips professionals with a comprehensive understanding of building energy simulation techniques to optimise energy performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable building design. Participants gain hands-on exposure to leading simulation tools to analyse design scenarios, integrate renewable energy solutions, and improve HVAC efficiency.

The programme aligns with India’s Energy Conservation & Sustainable Building Code (ECSBC/ECBC) and global sustainability frameworks such as GRIHA, LEED, IGBC, and EDGE, supporting national energy security goals and climate change mitigation.

Programme Objectives

  • Develop proficiency in building energy modelling using industry-standard simulation software.
  • Optimise building designs for energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assess the impact of climatic conditions on energy performance and occupant comfort.
  • Integrate renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into building energy systems.
  • Conduct parametric analysis to evaluate and optimise multiple design scenarios.
  • Ensure compliance with ECBC, LEED, and other energy efficiency frameworks.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to real-world energy simulation challenges.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable, low-carbon buildings.

ASCI is the first Management Development Institution set up in the country at the instance of the Government of India and industry in 1956 to impart state-of-the-art management education for practicing managers, a legacy that we proudly take forward with a strong alumni of over 1,63,000. We are proud of our alumni which includes the leaders of Indian industry and senior Civil Servants in the government, public sector undertakings to be a part of this unique organisation. We are thankful to you all for the support extended in the past and look forward to your continuing patronage in 2023-24.

Also, ASCI conducts customized programmes for Government of India, State Governments, Public Sector, Private Sector and various international organisations. Our experienced faculty bring to the table a wealth of academic credentials, rich industry exposure and act as a catalyst in the classroom discussions, case study analyses and tutorials. Our faculty also conduct international programmes which provide an exposure to the global best practices. In addition to this, faculty at ASCI also carry out large number of management research activities (typically about 100 each year) which helps them provide the much needed value addition in the training programmes. In addition, we conduct non-residential programmes at our New Delhi Centre as well as off-campus programmesat the venue of the client’s choice
