About the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI)

The Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) is an institution of excellence and national importance, established in 1956 as a joint initiative of the Government of India and the industry. It is an autonomous, public-purpose institution and serves as a think-tank for policy inputs and capacity building of practicing professionals.

ASCI is a subject allocated to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, as per the Second Schedule to the Government of India (Allocation of Business Rules), 1961. ( https://www.education.gov.in/allocation-business )

ASCI is a self-financing institution and imparts modern management techniques to senior managers from Government, Public Sector Undertakings including banks, and international organizations such as the World Bank, IMF, and ADB. Faculty members also conduct applied research and provide managerial consultancy.

ASCI offers high-quality capacity-building programmes, undertakes research, and provides advisory support to policy development and practice. The Government of India, State Governments, and development organisations have commissioned ASCI as a nodal agency for training, advisory, and monitoring and evaluation programmes.

Role Expectations

The incumbent is expected to prepare training (capacity-building) and consultancy projects, market these to relevant clients, and liaise effectively with national and international funding agencies.

Centre for Management Studies (Human Resource Management)

The Centre for Management Studies at ASCI is looking for bright professionals with interests in teaching, research, training, and industry networking. The Centre offers the flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme.

Qualification

  • PhD in Management.
  • Minimum 55% marks in Master’s Degree.
  • Outstanding industry professionals with relevant experience may also apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Taking sessions in Human Resource Management.
  • Guiding students in dissertation projects.
  • Conducting research projects and Management Development Programmes.
  • Organising seminars, conferences, and industry-connect programmes.
  • Participation in co-curricular and academic activities.
  • Assisting in admissions and placement-related administrative tasks.

Relevant Experience

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience for Assistant Professor.
  • Experience in leading research and consultancy assignments.
  • Senior leadership experience in Human Resources is desirable.
  • Business development experience for training, consultancy, and research.
  • Publications in refereed journals.
  • Experience of teaching in Post Graduate programmes.
