Agri Entrepreneurship Development – Programme Overview
The agricultural sector offers immense potential for innovative ventures that contribute to rural development and employment generation. Agri-entrepreneurs are emerging as key drivers of transformation, introducing fresh perspectives and business practices that enhance productivity and sustainability in farming and allied sectors.
This programme aims to familiarize participants with the fundamentals of establishing and managing enterprises in agriculture and allied areas. It covers identification of viable agri-business opportunities, planning, management, marketing, and access to finance and support systems. The course is designed to motivate and empower aspiring entrepreneurs to translate ideas into successful ventures.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Day I: Opportunities in Agri Enterprises
Overview of the agriculture and allied sectors, emerging enterprise opportunities, and government schemes supporting agri-business. Understanding the role of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), cooperatives, and rural startups in promoting entrepreneurship.
Day II: Enterprise Management and Financial Planning
Fundamentals of enterprise establishment, business plan preparation, financial planning, cost management, and marketing strategies. Insights into legal and regulatory frameworks, credit facilities, and institutional linkages for entrepreneurs.
Day III: Field Visit and Interaction with Agri-Entrepreneurs
Exposure visit to successful agri-based enterprises. Interaction with entrepreneurs and experts to gain first-hand understanding of challenges and success factors in managing agri-startups.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the programme, participants will:
- Understand the process of starting and managing agri-based enterprises.
- Develop motivation and confidence to take up entrepreneurial ventures.
- Gain insights into market trends, financial planning, and institutional support systems.
- Learn from successful entrepreneurs through field interactions and case discussions.
METHODOLOGY
The programme uses a mix of classroom sessions, case studies, group discussions, field visits, and experience-sharing sessions to provide a practical understanding of entrepreneurship in agriculture.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
Young professionals, self-help group leaders, rural youth, and individuals interested in establishing or managing enterprises in agriculture and allied sectors.
VENUE
The programme is fully residential, and participants will be accommodated in air-conditioned single occupancy rooms. The college does not provide accommodation for family members. The ASCI campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled.
DURATION
The programme duration is 3 days from November 03–05, 2025. Participants are expected to arrive a day before commencement and may leave after the conclusion of the programme.
PROGRAMME FEE
Residential Fee: ₹15,000 per participant plus GST (currently 18%). The fee covers tuition, board and lodging, courseware (in electronic form), and other campus facilities including internet usage.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
The nominees are requested to carry proof of medical insurance. The sponsoring agency is required to endorse the nominees' medical coverage in the event of hospitalization.

LAST DATE FOR WITHDRAWAL
October 29, 2025. Any withdrawals after this date will entail forfeiture of the programme fee, if paid.
ASCI ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
All participants of ASCI programmes automatically become members of the ASCI Alumni Association, fostering continued learning and networking.
CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION
A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to all participants upon successful completion of the programme.
