Mr. Amartya Awasthi is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Energy Studies and has ~12+ years of experience at the intersection of energy, environment and entrepreneurship covering sectors like semiconductor and cleantech manufacturing, sustainability strategy advisory, clean energy financing, energy access powered livelihoods and gender lens impact, environment and climate change policy advocacy as well as climate tech startups and innovations. He has worked in various areas like clean energy, climate friendly cooling, clean energy access and rural livelihoods, industrial resource efficiency, environment sustainability, energy conservation and ECBC, Green House Gases (GHG) and emissions, advanced analytics, techno-commercial modelling, multi-stakeholder engagement and management, partnerships and business development, policy implementation, impact financing, non-profit management, donor and investor relations and scale-up cleantech and climate tech innovations.

He has co-authored blogs, articles, reports and publications on various topics like Sustainable and Climate Friendly Cooling, ECBC, Heat Stress and Cool Roofs, Climate Tech innovation landscape in India, Post-consumer Plastic Waste Management, Climate Tech / Clean Tech Innovations for the Tourism and Hospitality Sector etc. Beyond this, he is passionate about exploring how an ecosystem-based approach bringing together stakeholders can help support and scale early-stage climate tech innovations.

Through his professional engagements he has either worked with or advised reputed organizations like the Birla Group, Samsung, Micron Technologies, ITC, UN Women, Invest India, AGNIi Mission, MNRE, MOEF&CC, Natural Resources Defense Council, SELCO Foundation, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, CEEW, TERI, World Energy Council India etc.

Mr. Awasthi is a double masters graduating with top honours in both. He has a Master of Science from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and a Masters of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
