ASCI equips corporate managers, administrators, entrepreneurs and academicians with the skills to synthesize managerial theory and practice; and respond to the ever-increasing complexity of managerial issues confronting government, industrial enterprises and non-government organizations.

Scope of engagement

Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad is conducting a Manpower Assessment study for one of the State Departments of the Government of Telangana. This ToR pertains to engagement of individual consultant who could work with ASCI and be accountable for the following key deliverables.

  • Estimate the manpower requirement for successful operationalization of food processing plants with improved technologies in comparison with the existing production plants.
  • Manpower requirement needs to be estimated in a comprehensive manner including technical and managerial staff along with developing brief job descriptions, skill set required for a particular role, technical qualifications and experience. The technical staff are the skilled personnel who can operationalize the equipment, possesses knowledge on the engineering aspects of the Plant & Machinery and also engage in regular maintenance. Managerial staff shall include but not limited to supervisors, shift managers, production managers so on and so forth.
  • The consultant needs to also look into the Quality Control Division of the said organization and estimate the manpower requirement for the division as well.
  • The consultant shall visit the processing plants along with a team from ASCI, comprehend the technical specifications, process flow et al and estimate the manpower requirement in a comprehensive manner.

Desired qualifications and experience

It is desired that the consultant is a graduate or a post graduate in food processing/ agricultural engineering with experience in production units specifically in the food processing sector. Experience in both technical and managerial capacities could be of added value. Experts currently working in the food processing industry with flexibility to moonlight or freelancers from agro/ food processing advisory background with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Period of engagement

The assignment is a short duration one with period of engagement as one month from the date of appointment. Most likely, the above tasks would be scheduled for July 2019.
