Dr. Y Malini Reddy

Dr. Y Malini Reddy is a Professor in Centre for Environment, Urban Governance & Infrastructure Development of ASCI. She has graduated in Economics (Hons) from Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Garment Manufacturing Technology from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. She holds a Doctorate Degree from ICFAI University, Dehradun. In addition to these she has completed certificate programs in sanitation at Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Social Impact Leadership Program at Dasra and Harvard Business School (India) and Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management at Harvard Business School Boston).
She has more than 23 years of experience in teaching, research, consulting and also entrepreneurship in the sectors of sanitation, urban governance, apparel, retail, hospitality, and education. She leads initiatives on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools, Social innovations &entrepreneurship, gender in sanitation and is engaged as Project Manager in several international and national large and long duration assignments in the areas of sanitation, smart cities and improvements in public service design and delivery.
Her areas of interest and expertise in training, research and consulting include Urban Sanitation, ICT for development, Behavioral Change Communication in sanitation, Social Marketing, Social Entrepreneurship, WASH in schools, Inclusive Markets, Services Excellence, Customer/Citizen Relationship Management, Digital Marketing and Branding, Leadership and General Management, e-learning and educational quality. She has led consulting assignments in these areas in B2B, B2C andG2Ccontexts.
Her doctoral research was on the assessment and enhancement of student learning outcomes. She has working knowledge of globally known management education accreditation systems such as AACSB, EFMD, AMDISA, and AMBA. She was a Non-Resident Research Fellow with Asian Institute of Management, Manila and has worked in the area of co-creation, social marketing and citizen participation in effective delivery of public services.
She is an invited speaker in many international and national events/ conferences of repute for academics and practitioners. She has taught government officials, executives of public and private enterprises and students in post graduate programmes in management.
She has published 20 research papers in international and national journals. She has co-uthored several knowledge products as part of ongoing projects. She has also published case studies and book reviews in reputed journals. Having been a Consulting Editor with the FedUni Journal of Higher Education from 2009-2011, she is currently a reviewer with Sage Publications India, Emerald Emerging Markets and Case Studies, Asian Education and Development Studies, Educational Management, Administration and Leadership, and Tata McGraw Hill. She has published close to 100 articles on marketing, education, apparel and fashion in the professional magazines as well as Hyderabad edition of Times of India and Deccan Chronical newspapers. She has published her thesis in the form of a book.
