led by Program Directors Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, IAS (Retd.) and Lt Gen K Surendra Nath, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), with Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Former Advisor to Raksha Mantri & Member,
National Security Council (NSC) as Chief Guest, in the presence of distinguished guests and thought leaders.
As emphasized by Dr. N. Ramesh Kumar, DG, ASCI, in today’s complex geopolitical context, strengthening self-reliance in science and technology is critical to ensuring national resilience and strategic autonomy.
He positioned Atmanirbharta as the practical embodiment of the Karmayogi mindset, a deep commitment to purpose, regardless of outcomes.
Lt Gen K Surendra Nath outlined the legacy and vision of the programme, which builds on a long-standing initiative for senior management-level officers. The aim is to explore emerging technologies such as space technology, AI, and more with insights from experts. He warmly welcomed Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, a renowned scientist whose contributions to missiles, submarines, and air defence have shaped India's technological edge.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Reddy traced the evolution of leadership from ancient warfare to modern tech-driven strategy. Citing the vision of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam,
he reminded us that timely innovation, technological command, and cost-effective indigenous manufacturing are key pillars of national strength.
He urged India to lead, not follow, and stressed that leadership today lies in mastering space, cyber, and AI domains. His message was clear: we must move from being dependent to being dominant with urgency, vision, and action.
Lt. Gen. K. Surendra Nath concluded the inaugural session by weaving together the core themes of science, technology, and leadership. He described three critical stages in technological evolution:

He emphasized that moving forward requires not just innovation, but inspired leadership.
