Lt Gen K. Surendra Nath, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd)
Highly Decorated Indian Army Veteran & Defence Leader

Lt Gen K. Surendra Nath, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) is a highly decorated Indian Army veteran with over four decades of distinguished service in India and abroad. An alumnus of Sainik School Korukonda, NDA Khadakvasla, and IMA Dehradun, he is also a graduate of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (Bangladesh), Higher Command Course (Mhow), National Defence College (New Delhi), and the UN Senior Mission Commanders Course.

He holds an MSc in Defence Studies and dual MPhil degrees from Devi Ahilyabai University and Madras University.

He served in pivotal operational and strategic roles, including: Senior Military Observer in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Cambodia (1991) – overseeing disarmament, peacekeeping, and elections in the volatile Khmer Rouge–dominated northwest region, and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Army Training Command – leading initiatives in simulators, robotics, wargaming tools, and professional military education.

At Army HQ, he steered information warfare, geospatial intelligence, and FICV development studies, and chaired the Army Technology Board with IIT directors and the Army Management Studies Board with IIM directors.

Post-retirement, he served as Member (Administrative), Armed Forces Tribunal in Lucknow and Chennai (2013–2017) and was a Member of the Court, University of Hyderabad, nominated by the President of India.
