Dr. Nirmalya Bagchi is a distinguished academic leader, innovation strategist, and policy advisor, currently serving as Director–PGDM, Centre Director, and Professor at the Centre for Management Studies, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). He is also the Founding Chairman of the Bella Vista Innovation Foundation.

With a Ph.D. and a Master’s in Business Management, Dr. Bagchi has been associated with ASCI since 2006. His expertise spans innovation management, R&D management, and strategic management. Over his career, he has successfully led high-impact assignments for premier national and international agencies, including the Department of Science & Technology (DST), DRDO, European Commission, UNICEF, Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

His research work has played a pivotal role in shaping key national policies, such as the Science, Technology & Innovation Policy 2013 and the SRIMAN Policy 2022 of the DST. He has authored books, contributed to academic volumes, and published widely in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Bagchi also mentors organisations in the areas of innovation and strategy. He has undergone specialised training in Statistical Methods, E-Governance, and Executive Evaluation from prestigious institutions, including the Indian Statistical Institute and the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UNAPCICT).
