Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy is a renowned defence and aerospace scientist, widely recognised for his four-decade-long contributions to Defence R&D and technology leadership in India. He joined the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) in 1986 and later played a pivotal role at Research Centre Imarat (RCI), the brainchild of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, where he spearheaded the development of advanced avionics and eventually served as Director.
He went on to lead the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex as Director General, Missiles & Strategic Systems. Over his illustrious career, Dr. Reddy has held several prestigious leadership positions, including: Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO, and Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).
Currently, he serves as the President of the Aeronautical Society of India. A visionary technologist and policy architect, Dr. Reddy has been instrumental in strengthening India’s defence R&D ecosystem.
He has contributed extensively to India’s S&T ecosystem, serving on the Governing Councils and Committees of premier institutions including IISc, IITs, IISER, SERB, CSIR, TDB, and the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology & Innovation Advisory Council (PM-STIAC).
He holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNTU Anantapur, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in ECE from JNTU Hyderabad.
