About the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI)

The Administrative Staff College of India is an institution of excellence and national importance. Established in 1956, it is the first and foremost institution of its kind in the country. Set up as an institution with a difference at the joint initiative of both the Government of India and the industry, it is an autonomous, self-supporting, public-purpose institution with the objectives of being a think-tank for policy inputs and to build the capacities of practising professionals in the management of government and business enterprises.

Position : Assistant Professor


  • Education:

    Ph.D in Agriculture and allied disciplines including Agri-business Management or  Rural Development / Rural Management and related area

  • Domain Experience:
    • 15 years of training and / or development research and/ or management consulting. 
    • Experience of training practicing managers or policy makers or development officials from agriculture and allied sectors. 
    • The training experience must include program design, curriculum development, execution of programmes and delivery of sessions.
    • The research experience desired is more towards development/ applied research and not pure research. Proven research work in the areas of agricultural policy, Governance, monitoring of schemes and programmes, evaluation studies and impact assessment are desirable. 
    • Management consulting experience may include Government advisory through establishment of Project Management Units, Transaction Advisory etc. Project management experience in handling grant projects from reputed International donors is an added advantage.
    • Experience in conceptualizing and developing projects/training professionals and securing sponsors is essential.

The Salary Package

  • Assistant Professor: Pay scale 55520 - 97470 & Gross Pay per Month Rs.97715/-  at minimum of scale.

 Higher emoluments may be considered for exceptionally deserving candidates.

The positions carry a number of benefits apart from the gross pay, such as     

Conveyance Allowance (1680 – 4500),

Contributory PF @12% of Basic + DA,

Leave Encashment,


LTA and family accommodation in campus in lieu of HRA.                     

These appointments are on a contractual basis, initially for a period of three years, subject to probation of one year and fulfillment of specified work norms. After three years the appointment is renewable subject to satisfactory performance.  The age of superannuation is 60 years.
