Programme Objectives

  • Facilitate development of managerial and leadership skills among scientists
  • Familiarize scientists with the administration of Government S&T institutions
  • Provide a structured forum for scientists to interact with peers from other S&T Institutions/organizations

  • Talks by distinguished scientists, eminent technology managers & able administrators.
  • Visits to some of the best-practice driven, model R&D labs and S&T Training institutions
  • Case studies and Videos
  • Panel discussions on effective and efficient management of R&D institutions and industries.
  • Project report preparation & presentations

Target Participants

The programme is designed for experienced women scientists and technologists of Grade ‘C’ to ‘G’ & Equivalent and with work experience of 9 (nine) years and above. Women Scientists/Technologists working in the Department/Ministries of Central Government, Public Sector Units, Government Aided Research Institutes, Government Research Laboratories, Women Scientists and Academicians from State Governments, Women Scientists and Academicians from Central and State Universities, Educational Institutions and Colleges, engaged in R&D in any discipline of Science and Technology are included under the Plan Scheme ‘Disha Programme for Women in Science’. Age of the applicants should not be more than 58 years as on 1st July 2017.

All nominations have to be strictly from the government sector only and nomination of applicants from private sector will not be accepted.
