Programme Objectives:

  • Facilitate among the participants, the understanding and appreciation of the challenges emerging from technological advances, globalisation, competition, regulatory compliance, societal as well as governance needs
  • Help them enrich and upgrade their managerial attributes, knowledge and skills
  • Prepare them to respond to felt and unmet needs in a more efficient and effective manner
  • Provide them with an opportunity to interact with their peers from the scientific and research community, share inspiring experiences and exchange constructive views and ideas

Andragogy: 

  • Talks by distinguished scientists, eminent technology managers & able administrators.
  • Visits to some of the best-practice driven, model R&D labs and S&T Training institutions.
  • Case studies and Videos
  • Panel discussions on effective and efficient management of R&D institutions and industries.
  • Project report preparation & presentations
  • One week (5 days) outbound exercise for enhancing team-building skills and inter-personal relations (optional) This will be on actual expenses.

Target Participants

The programme is designed for experienced scientists and technologists (Scientists of grades C and above) from research institutions. Nominations from academics should possess PhD / M.Tech degrees and should be actively involved in Research & Development. Scientists from the Business Management Divisions of S&T institutions are also encouraged to attend. Age of the applicants should not be more than 52 years as on 1 July 2017. The participants should have put up a minimum of 9 years of service and should be participating in the Department of Science and Technology sponsored Advanced Techno Management Programme for the first time. All nominations have to be strictly from the government sector only and nomination of applicants from private sector will not be accepted.
