PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

This course will help the scientists and technologists to prepare for taking greater responsibilities in the organization and will improve their overall managerial capacity and outlook. Science Administration and Research Management can improve efficiency and productivity of our S&T organizations. This set of management tools and techniques enable optimal use of resources and improve innovation in the organization. The course will also expose the participants to the important issues of management in S&T organizations like IPR Management, Project Management, RFD preparation etc.

DURATION AND VENUE OF THE PROGRAMME

December 26, 2017 – January 5, 2018. The programme is fully residential and the participants will be accommodated in single air-conditioned rooms the College at Hyderabad. Transportation from and to Airport / Railway Station will be arranged by the College.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

The programme is designed for experienced scientists and technologists (of levels ‘C’ to ‘G’ or equivalent) with work experience of 9 (nine) years and above. The intake for the programme is generally limited to 25. The preferred allocation of seats is: 10 from central sector, 5 from state sector, 5 from universities / colleges and 5 from other government institutions. Not more than two candidates would be selected from one institute / organization. As regards nominations from academia, only those who possess PhD / M.Tech degrees and are actively involved in Research & Development would be selected.

It is to be reiterated that all nominations have to be strictly from the government sector only. Nomination of applicants from private sector will not be accepted.

Nominations would be accepted on ‘first come’, ‘first serve’ basis, in conformity with the above guidelines.

SPONSORSHIP & SUPPORT

The training programme is residential and all expenditure will be met by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India except the expenditure on to-and-fro journey from the place of duty to ASCI and TA/DA etc. which are to be borne by the sponsoring organizations. Accordingly, nominating institutions and participants NEED NOT pay DST or ASCI , any fee or expenses for course fee, board and/or lodging for the participants.

NOMINATIONS

Scientists and technologists interested in participating in the training programme may apply in the prescribed proforma (enclosed) duly recommended by the Controlling Officer of the Department / Organization, at least one month before the commencement of the programme directly to ASCI at the following address, with a copy endorsed to Under Secretary (Training), Department of Science & Technology, Technology Bhawan,New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi – 110016.
