Dr. CA. Haresh Kothari is Director of Centre For Economics and Finance, Chairperson & Professor of Finance Area, and Resource Person for PGDM & PGDHM (AICTE Approved), at Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). He provides the strategic direction to the Centre and leads it advisory, consulting, research, capacity development programmes, and new higher education initiatives. He is an alumnus of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India New Delhi, GLS University (Gujarat Law Society) Ahmedabad, and Gujarat University Ahmedabad.

He has been an Industry Professional, Corporate Trainer, Consulting Chartered Accountant, an Accomplished Academician, and an Edupreneur with total work experience of about 30 years in Industry, Academia, Advisory, Consulting, Executive Training, Management Education, Branding, Education Marketing, Business Development / Admissions, Revenue Generation, and Institution Building.

He is actively involved in Management Training and Development, Consulting Projects, Research, and Higher Education, for clients from private sector, public sector, government, universities, and other higher education institutions in India and abroad. He has delivered many guest sessions as GST Trainer / Resource Person on the panels of Ministry of MSME - Govt. of India, Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat - Department of Education - Govt. of Gujarat, UGC – HRDCs, Universities, Colleges, and Higher Secondary Schools across India. He has been invited as Keynote Speaker in two National Conferences and one State level Conference to address key-note sessions on contemporary, innovative, and industry focused topics. He has been invited as member of Board of Studies and Academic Councils of few universities. He specializes in the areas of Income Tax, GST, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, and Business Laws / Legal Aspects of Business. He has presented & published many research papers, and has co-authored a book.

At present in ASCI, he is engaged in designing and delivering MDPs on innovative and contemporary topics, providing consulting on bi-national multipurpose project, curriculum designing & teaching courses in PGDM (AICTE Approved), and designing & launching innovative, contemporary, industry focused, skill based, and employment oriented new Post Graduate Diploma Program (2-yr AICTE Approved), for creating best employment opportunities for students. He has launched training programs on many innovative & contemporary topics namely International Taxation & Transfer Pricing, New India – New Tax Regimes, International Trade Issues & FTAs, Training Program for Credit Officers of Banks, Global Accounting Standards – IFRS & Ind.AS, GST @ 3.0 – Challenges & the road ahead, Managing Cost to Enhance Profitability, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code etc. At the same time, he is also engaged in some of the flagship Training Programs (MDPs) of Finance Area namely Advanced Financial Management, Finance for Non-Finance Professionals, Infrastructure Financing & Contract Management, Strategic Financial Management, and Project Financing & Taxonomy etc. He has designed and submitted proposals for Consulting Assignments / Projects on “Global Transfer Pricing Documentation and Compliances”, “Setting-up of Policies for Accounting, Taxation, and Finance”, “CSR – New Regulatory Compliances, Reporting, and Setting-up of Policies”, “Internal Audit including Internal Control and Risk Management”, and “Functional Support in Implementing Technology” etc. The clients of ASCI include Central/State/UT Governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Private Sector Companies, Banks & Financial Institutions, Municipal Corporations / Local Authorities, International Organizations, Ministries & Government Departments of more than 43 Foreign Countries, and Universities & Academic Institutions.     

Before joining ASCI, in academia he has served at Symbiosis University as Director & Professor-Faculty of Management (School of BFSI- MBA & BBA), and as Head-Centre of Excellence for GST; at Sandip University as Director & Professor-MBA, and as Head-Marketing & Admissions; at Amity University as Director & Professor – MBA & BBA, and as Head-Marketing & Admissions (Addl. Charge); at Gujarat University as Director Academic Operations & Professor (for MBA & other 3 PG programs), and as Head-Marketing & Admissions (Addl. Charge); at Nirma University as Head of Department (HOD)-Institute of Law. In these universities he has also served as member of IQAC Committee, NAAC Committee, Examination Committee, Admission Committee, Finance Committee, Placement Committee, Discipline Committee, Media Cell, Interview Committee, and Chairperson of newly proposed BBA-LLB Program. While serving these universities, he has been actively engaged in Teaching, Training (MDPs & FDPs), Consulting, Research, Curriculum Designing & Development, New degree / certificate course launching, Compliances with Statutory & Regulatory bodies, Academic & General Administration, Final Placement & Summer Internship, Academic & Corporate Outreach activities, Overall Institutional Development, and Revenue Generation.

Before joining academia, in industry he has served at reputed private sector companies namely Anagram Finance Ltd (Arvind Mills Group), R.C. Laser Tech India Ltd (TVS Group), Jay Bharat Fabrics Mills Ltd etc, at various senior positions. While serving these companies, he has handled assignments in the areas of Income Tax / Direct Taxes, GST / Indirect Taxes, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Company Law, Equity Research, Import-Exports, and Public Issue matters.

As a Consulting Chartered Accountant, he has served in the capacity of Management Consultant, Consultant Director, and Adviser to few reputed private universities, private sector companies, and other organizations. He has handled consulting assignments relating to Goods and Services Tax (GST), Income Tax, Recruitment & Placement, Business Development & Revenue Generation, Launching New Degree Programs & Certificate Courses, and establishing & successfully operating “Centre of Excellence For GST”.

 

Training: Designing & delivering contemporary, innovative, industry focused, skill based, and employment oriented Training Programs (MDPs/EDPs/FDPs/SDPs) for all types of client organizations.

Consulting: Providing consulting services and handling consulting assignments in areas of Income Tax/Direct Taxes, GST/Indirect Taxes, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Tax & Remittance Policy, Financial Manuals, and Financial Bylaws.

Teaching: Interested to teach at IIMs, IITs, NITs, Top 20 Management Institutes, and reputed Indian & Foreign Universities, as guest faculty / visiting faculty, to working executives of PGPM/PGPX, and to students of MBA/PGDM, professional courses like CA/CS/IWCA/CMA etc. The courses/subjects of interest for teaching are Income Tax, GST, Financial Management (Corporate or Core Finance), and Accounting.

Centre of Excellence for Management / Management Development Centre: Love to support Governments, Universities, and other Institutes for establishing & operating “Centre of Excellence for Management” for them, which will provide services of training, consulting, and research for their clients like Central Govt., State Govt., U.T. Govt., Public Sector Undertakings, Private Sector Companies, Banks & Financial Institutions, Municipal Corporations, International Organizations, Ministries & Govt. Depts. of Foreign Countries, and Universities & Higher Education Institutions.

Centre of Excellence for GST: Love to support Governments, Universities, and other Training / Higher Education Institutes for establishing & operating “Centre of Excellence for GST” for them, which will provide services of training, consulting, and research in GST for their clients.

Innovative PG & UG Programs: Love to support Universities/Higher Education Institutes for designing & developing contemporary, innovative, skill based, industry focused, and employment oriented PG & UG Degree Programs, for creating employable work force for the industry and nation.
